My skill-sets are a bit unique from other folks that are just ‘designers’ or just 'marketers'. That’s because I worked for a decade in NY and LA at the top creative agencies as both a designer, advertising art director and advertising copywriter, crafting messages and telling stories for national brands like Nike, Volkswagen, ESPN and Delta. I had some hits (hey mom, I won an Emmy!) and some misses (mom, I work at the most soul-sucking place) and in the process I learned there are a lot of things besides just design that go into being a brand, which is what led me to working in so many roles.
I took it a step further in 2013 when I stepped outside the world of big brands and created my own, a Southern-themed brand called Y'allsome whose mission was to give back to Southern foster kids. This first-hand experience of starting a brand from scratch and applying branding and marketing principles under a 'real-world' budget is what led me to where I am today. I still do occasional contract work for the big boys, but my heart is into rolling up my sleeves and helping small businesses become brands.
So, if you are looking for someone who can wear the many hats that are necessary when designing a brand, get in touch and let’s make some magic together. No, not that kind of magic.
